2335 install

Hello, does this timing cover need rtv or is it a dry install like the one piece oil pan seal?

Fel pro 2335 in a 283 sbc

Hi Sam,

The only place RTV should be used is on the two joints where the timing cover gasket meets the oil pan gasket (Which is also where the timing cover and block meet above the oil pan). Use only a dab of sealant on each side, just enough to fill any small gaps that may exist. Too much RTV can cause the gasket(s) to slip or split during torquing.
