Ford 2.9 Lower Intake Gasket Question
I am working on a '90 Ranger with the 2.9 V6. Replacing ther head gaskets. Bought a FelPro gasket kit with the one piece lower intake gasket. Autozone part number HS9510PT-2. I see the gasket is serated where the intake meets the valley but it doesn't seem to bend. Don't want to ruin it. Am I supposed to cut it into 3 pieces?

Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Martin,

The gasket will bend. It has a steel core but it will bend at the serrated lines. Do not cut the gasket. The center section of the gasket acts as a shield to protect the lower intake from hot oil.
